Dabble&Babble

Dabble&Babble is the merging of my two passions in a way that can benefit and enhance my client's therapy. Combining my love of crafting and my love of counseling, I have found that there is power in crafting as a treatment for trauma.

What is Dabble&Babble?

Crafting pulls our body into the conversation of trauma in a creative way, while also teaching you a coping skill you can use outside of session. We will utilize whatever craft you want — you don’t have to be a skilled crafter! — to enhance your trauma therapy.

We will sometimes craft simultaneously while we work to process some of the difficult experiences you have had, and other times we will use it as a coping skill and bring mindfulness into a crafting practice.

As adults, we dont often let ourselves "play" in this way, but it is so rewarding to our body and our nervous system when we do.

Stress Reduction

Engaging in arts and crafts activities allows you to focus on the present moment and forget about daily worries. This mindfulness helps lower stress levels and promote relaxation.

Improved Mood

Creating something with your own hands can boost your sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. This, in turn, can positively impact your mood and overall well-being.

Increased Creativity

Arts and crafts encourage you to think outside the box and explore different ideas. This can enhance your creativity and problem-solving skills, which can be beneficial in various aspects of life.
